I welcome invitations to speak to groups about my books. People tell me that they see the world a little differently after hearing me speak. Researching Where are the Fellows showed me how we are rediscovering our sense of community, and talking about Down to Earth is an opportunity to take a fresh look at our evolving connection to the natural world and to take a fresh look at our changing climate.
You can hear me speak at these events:
East Anglian Folklore - Colchester
This will be a fun event, organised by the East Anglian Folklore Centre. Colchester is where my parents grew up, met and married, so this one is a return to my roots.
Join me in celebrating Suffolk Day
A lifelong interest in the work of Suffolk writer George Ewart Evans, which prompted me to follow in his footsteps and write my own book about life in rural Suffolk, will I hope interst those who come to talk with me at this Suffolk Day event.
Talk & Book Signing, Aldeburgh Bookshop
Where are the Fellows Who Cut the Hay, Talk & Book Signing
Farming films in Framlingham
Old farming films, a talk about my new book, and a chance to support a worthwhile East Anglian rural charity. https://buytickets.at/leistonbookfestivalcic/2163242
A talk about both recent books at Colchester Crematorium Chapel
A talk about both of my recent books, in the chapel at the crematorium that features in the final chapter of ‘Down to Earth.’ Tickets here.
Brampton Plough Day
I’ll be chatting with farmers, signing books and watching the tractors and steam engines at work.
Leiston Book Festival - Down to Earth Interview and Book Signing
Down to Earth, Interview & Book Signing
A talk rooted in Needham Market.
George Ewart Evans lived for a time on Needham Market High Street, and his wife was headmistress at the local primary school where I was a pupil in 1961. This talk will focus on ‘Where are the Fwllows who Cut the Hay’, but will invariably cover much of what Evans wrote, and I remember, about Needham Market.
Talk & book signing, The Library, Bury St Edmunds.
Where are the Fellows Who Cut the Hay, Book Signing
Paperback Book Launch & Film Show, Framlingham.
