NEW BOOK NOW AVAILABLE - Sales for Non-Salespeople

I’m a best-selling non-fiction author, published by Pearson, Wiley and Hodder & Stoughton. I write very practical books that help people see themselves more positively, develop new skills and live happier, more fulfilling lives. The greatest compliment I’ve received was when someone told me they had dyslexia, rarely read a book but enjoyed reading mine. For me, a book is all about the reader. As it becomes easier to self-publish, the role of a good publisher becomes more important. In my experience a good book needs three things to succeed:

• An author with authority in and passion for the subject;

• A respected publisher with challenging editorial staff and a great distribution network;

• An audience of readers, eager and willing to act upon what they will read and believe.

Ask Robert

2014 should see the publication of two new books. The first will help everyone who reads it to become more persuasive and influential. It will help you understand selling, make it easier for you to sell yourself and to win support for your ideas at work. You'll learn how to sell products and services too with ease. Importantly, it will help you use the internet effectively to find, and be found by, the people most able to help you succeed. This book will be published by Hodder & Stoughton in September.

The second book has been something of a slow burner. It set out to be a guide to changing the world in which you live and work. Specifically it tries to demystify the concept of ‘localism’ and ‘community enterprise'. It will make it far easier for you to understand and then do this stuff. Right now I’m suffering the pain I intend you to avoid; wrestling with the confusion that fogs this particular landscape. My hope is that the Directory for Social Change will recognise that this book is well worth the wait. I hope to see it published in time for Christmas 2014.

'The Entrepreneur's Book of Checklists': What an insightful book! Having come straight out of uni and looking to start my own business one day, but also generally looking to improve on my entrepreneurial knowledge, this book was very helpful in building my knowledge further. With easy to read check-lists covering all the key areas you need to know about starting your own enterprise. Highly recommended read to anyone.
