Community Foundations

Robert is a huge supporter of the UK Community Foundation Network. He helped set up Norfolk’s Community Foundation and has been a Trustee for six years. He’s also a donor, building his own named fund; proof that you don’t have to be rich to be recognised for your philanthropy. ‘Community Foundations make philanthropy affordable,’ he says, ‘you no longer have to be massively wealthy to get involved, nor do you need to respond to ad hoc requests for help when you have a giving programme in place.’

Robert believes that Community Foundations face a unique opportunity. ‘They have little baggage and can respond quickly to changing need,’ he says ‘Foundations are well placed to provide grants, loans, volunteers and advisers to the emerging social economy.’

If you’re a grant maker seeking to get closer to the social economy, Robert can help you develop and deliver programmes that can attract match funding and deliver sustainable social change.
