If global warming and the predicted environmental apocalypse fills you with horror, take a break. Bjorn Lomborg is a Danish statistician who has applied his mathematics to the conundrum of rapidly our warming planet.
Whereas the Met Office produce convincing graphs that suggest we’ve blasted so much CO2 into the atmosphere that we’ve actually delayed the next Ice Age, Blomborg is less sensational. He takes a logical and detailed look at almost every aspect of our physical and economic worlds, allaying fears and suggesting that actually things are not that bad.
Lomborgs views are widely opposed and as such make compulsive reading. It’s important to look at both sides of any argument and this book certainly gives you a seemingly strong argument to stop worrying and continue burning those fossil fuels. Grab a copy and see what you think. Is the future as bleak as the environmentalists would have us believe?
