Helping people become more entrepreneurial

I was recently asked for some strategies for success for the self-employed.

Answer:

1. Know what you do well

2. Understand what adds value

3. Communicate clearly the benefits, not the features, of what you do

4. Invest time in making the right contacts

5. Give before getting - pro bono work can often lead to paid work

Here's a brilliant idea to combat prejudice. It's called Living Library and instead of books you borrow a person for a half hour chat.  www.living-library.org

I volunteered myself for an event to see for myself. To find out how I got on have a look at my blog

You know entrepreneurship isn’t just for people in business. The skills you need to build and grow a business, are equally important in other areas. Although my background is deeply rooted in the world of small business, I am increasingly now working with charities, social enterprises and even individuals seeking positive, sustainable change. I call this personal entrepreneurship.

This website is packed with information, tips, hints, helpful downloads and more. Everything that’s here has been written, selected, tested and proven. It doesn’t matter if you want to make life better, work more rewarding, or turn a dream into reality.

There’s something here for you

consultant: I work in entrepreneurial and sometimes unconventional ways to bring about positive, sustainable changes to organisations of all kinds.

hire me to speak for: business support agencies and business audiences. Anything from groups wishing to start or grow a small business or social enterprise, to people who simply want to learn how to influence small businesses.

facilitating: trustee strategy meetings for charities. Almost inevitably pressure to change creates a tension between the management and the Trustees. I can help defuse the tension and negotiate a way ahead that everyone buys in to

successful author: I am able to inform, encourage and even challenge people to think and act differently. My publishers sell my work worldwide. I welcome feedback from people who have read my books and regularly receive emails from every continent in the world that has bookstores.

pro bono: I give around 10% of my work time to organisations seeking to make changes I support.

I hope that this website encourages you to share your challenges with me. Not only do I earn my living by helping others become more successful, I also learn so much from the feedback, comments and opportunities people share with me.

I look forward to hearing from you.
